Summer Session Winding Down

The Lady Raiders have had a strong developmental summer. Players, coaches, and fans eagerly anticipate the coming season and a new gymnasium that should be ready by September.

The Lady Raiders had a solid season in the tough Hoops for Hope Andover summer league, going 6-3 in the regular season, and they made it to the Final Four of the Stonehill tournament this weekend, including some very tough wins over solid competition from the South Shore and out of state teams.

Meg Kirwan has provided strong play and leadership, as well as co-Captain Emily Clark, and a host of underclassmen have provided spark on offense, defense, and the boards. Sophomore point guard Colleen Hanscom threw in a buzzer beater to help defeat Spring Ford, PA on Saturday.

Summer league coach Ralph Labella remains very enthusiastic about this group of young ladies, who will enter the Middlesex Leason seeking to win their 9th consecutive league title and go to the Division II North championship game for the 5th time in the past six seasons.

That's a lot to anticipate...and a lot for which to be grateful.
