Kirwan to UMASS-Lowell
The Melrose Weekly reports that senior Co-captain Meg Kirwan has signed to attend UMASS-Lowell and play basketball for the River Hawks. Like her sister Shannon, a two-time Middlesex League MVP, Meg will play in the Northeast 10 conference.
Kirwan captured the Middlesex League MVP this season while leading Melrose to their ninth consecutive league title. Meg featured slashing drives to the basket and adds three-point range to her offensive arsenal. She also delivered offensive rebounding above what would be expected from the guard slot.
