Tournaminty Fresh
The Lady Raiders sent two teams to the Lowell tournament, a tournament with plenty of strong teams, Arlington Catholic, Mercy of Connecticut, Lowell, Billerica, Somerville, and more.
Both teams brought home the bacon, as each won their bracket with outstanding play. Despite a cold-shooting first half, Melrose rallied to beat Somerville on a Lynley DeAmato buzzer-beater in the first game today, and beat an outstanding Mercy team to capture the Championship in the 'A' bracket. As usual, an outstanding effort from Shey Peddy helped lead the team to victory.
Melrose's 4-0 record in this tourney, combined with their two previous tournaments, brings their summer record to 17-1. Congratulations to all the players and their families who helped make the weekend a success.
