A Heads Up Play

Sometimes we can be critical of plays that lack "situational basketball" sense.  We expect players to be aware of the score, time, situation, and needs to DO THE RIGHT NEXT THING RIGHT.

Burlington had the ball with about 20 seconds to go, trailing 49-46 last night. Brooke Bell pressured the ball leading to a turnover and got it to Shannon Lahiff in the frontcourt with perhaps 13 or 14 seconds. Instead of trying to score, she dribbled away from the basket, burned clock, got fouled and made a pair of free throws to ice the game.

She made the right play at the right time.
