Offensive Output Lifts Lady Raiders 67-45

Melrose won its sixth game in seven, bringing its record to 7-5 with a big home victory over Belmont.

Melrose breached the sixty mark for the first time in two years, as ten players scored and Melrose finished strong.

Brooke Bell got Melrose out quickly with a seventeen point first, with a pair of treys and balanced scoring to lead 17-11. By half-time, Melrose led by 12, 33-21 behind a dozen Bell tallies and five apiece from Lia Limone and Jill Slabacheski.

Melrose and Belmont each added twelve in the third, before Melrose completed the rout with an 18-8 final period. Brooke finished with 18 points and Lia with thirteen, including eight in the fourth.

Game Analysis: Melrose started a three game homestand with an offensive surge that included at least sixteen points in each period. Better possessions, balanced scoring, and reducing turnovers produced better quality hoop.
